What’s the Story of Wuthering Heights?
Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights tells the story of two families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, living on the harsh West Yorkshire moors.
At its heart is the tragic love between Cathy and Heathcliff, the adopted son of the Earnshaw family. Although Cathy deeply loves Heathcliff, she chooses to marry Edgar Linton for his wealth and social standing.
This decision drives Heathcliff to madness, and he becomes haunted by Cathy’s ghost after her death. Even before Wuthering Heights, Fennell’s work shows strong influences from gothic literature and the Brontë sisters.
In Saltburn, one character desecrates a grave in a manner reminiscent of Heathcliff’s reaction to Cathy’s burial.
Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff
Heathcliff, a young man found as a homeless orphan on the streets of Liverpool, was taken in by Mr. Earnshaw, who brought him to live at Wuthering Heights.
He fell in love with his foster sister, Catherine, but faced abuse from his foster brother, Hindley.
Determined to get revenge, Heathcliff set out to make those who wronged him pay. Jacob Elordi is known for playing Nate in Euphoria and has starred in films like Saltburn, Priscilla, Deep Water, and the Kissing Booth trilogy.
Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw
Catherine, the daughter of the Earnshaws, forms a close bond with Heathcliff but later marries another man.
Robbie, an Oscar-nominated actress, gained fame for her roles in major films like Barbie, Babylon, Amsterdam, Bombshell, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Mary Queen of Scots, I, Tonya, The Wolf of Wall Street, and About Time.
She’s also well-known for playing Harley Quinn in the DCEU. Robbie first rose to prominence playing Donna in Neighbours.

What Jacob Elordi Said About His Previous Collab With Emerald Fennell In Saltburn?
In the film’s press notes, Elordi praised Emerald for doing an amazing job of putting her characters under a microscope to reveal human nature up close.
He explained that he approached his character as someone who is naturally kind and joyful but can’t avoid carrying the immense privilege that comes with generations of wealth, history, and influence.
Elordi also shared that one of the things he enjoyed about the film was the constant ambiguity in each character, blurring the lines between good and evil, right and wrong.
Who is Jacob Elordi?
Actor Elordi’s career has been steadily improving in the last several years, and he’s on the verge of turning into a big movie star.
He stars as Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla and has a significant supporting part as Felix Catton, a rich and powerful Oxford student with whom Oliver Quick, the primary protagonist, becomes rather obsessed in Saltburn.
What films has Jacob Elordi acted in before?
Jacob Elordi first gained fame in 2018 as the male lead in Netflix’s romcom The Kissing Booth. He reprised his role in two sequels, though he has since spoken dismissively about the trilogy in interviews. Elordi’s career soared further with his portrayal of Nate Jacobs in HBO’s hit teen drama Euphoria. He also appeared in films like Deep Water and 2 Hearts.
In 2023, Elordi’s star continued to rise. Along with major roles in Saltburn and Priscilla, where he played Elvis Presley, he also starred in two festival circuit films, The Sweet East and He Went That Way.
